Sanatçı Fatih BALCI bugüne dek İstanbul Bienali paralelinde ürettiği çalışmalara bir yenisini ekliyor.
Balcı 17. İstanbul Bienali mekânlarından Müze Gazhane’de görülür en yüksek yapı olan eski baca bölümünü kendi işi olarak ilan ediyor. Balcı bu çalışmada ele aldığı yapıyı bugüne dek sanat için emek vermiş, çabalamış ama hak ettikleri ilgiyi tam görememiş tüm sanatçılara adına bir anıta dönüştürüyor.
Sanatçı bunun için postmodern sanat stratejilerinden temellük etme yöntemini kullanırken hem bir duyguyu görünür hale getiriyor hem de bir kez daha Bienalin çevresinde kurulmuş sınırları çevresinden atlayarak geçiyor.
Balcı Bienali gezen tüm sanatçı ve izleyicilere, eski baca bölümünde kendisi gibi poz vermelerini, isimlerini ve #MechulSanatcıAniti hashtagini kullanmalarını ve yer bildiriminde bulunmalarını çağrısında bulunuyor.
Artist Fatih BALCI adds a new one to the works he has produced so far in parallel with the Istanbul Biennial.
Balcı declares the old chimney section, which is the highest visible structure in Museum Gazhane, one of the venues of the 17th Istanbul Biennial, as his own work. Balcı transforms the structure that he deals with in this work into a monument for all the artists who have worked for art, but have not received the attention they deserve.
While using the method of appropriation, one of the post-modern art strategies for this, the artist not only makes an emotion visible, but also bypasses the borders established around the Biennial once again.
Balcı Biennial invites all visiting artists and viewers to pose as himself in the old chimney section, use their names and the hashtag #MechulSanatcıAniti, and submit a check-in.
